The Great Hall. Clos Lucé, the chateau of Leonardo da Vinci (1516 - 1519). Amboise, France. Photos by Amber Maitrejean
In the great hall, Leonardo da Vinci would receive and entertain guests- notably the King of France, Francois 1st, important persons of the kingdom and other artists.
Items of note: All of the furnishings date from the Renaissance. To the right of the fireplace, a portion of one of the first Tournai tapestries from the 15th century, a bust of Francois 1st in armor, Spanish Renaissance chairs upholstered in Cordoba leather, hanging on the wall: two halberds and a tinel, and 16th century carved wood chests used for storing clothing.
